6 Months!!!!

Luke turned 6 months on November 21 (yes, I know this post is late...in order to keep myself organized I will update the last few weeks in separate posts!)!!
Here are his stats from his 6 month check up:
weight: 20lbs 8oz
height: 28 inches
head: 18 inches
That is 95% all around!!! We have 1 BIG, very healthy, growing boy! He received another round of shots and took them like a trooper.  Only 1 little yelp and that is it.  (He has a lot of padding in those little thighs!)

We decided to try some squash to celebrate his 6 month birthday! Here is the first taste:

He was (and still is) a bit unsure about vegetables.  Squash is hit or miss, he gags on sweet peas, is ok on carrots and LOVES sweet potatoes.  It has been so much fun trying out new foods!!

We also started adding formula to his cereal and his morning and afternoon bottles.  He never noticed a difference! So the weaning process has begun - I hope to continue nursing in the morning and at night before bed....and mix breast milk and formula in his 2 daytime bottles for the next month or so.

The weekend of the big 6 month birthday we celebrated on Friday night by meeting Auntie Janie (from Maine - in town for a conference) at happy hour and then going to the Sixers game! Luke loved happy hour but, unfortunately, HATED the basketball game.  It was WAY to loud in there for his little ears.  So Mommy and Luke spent the game in the restaurant outside of our section while Daddy enjoyed a little of the game.  Here is Luke celebrating at the bar:

Here are some fun 6 month facts about our little Lukie:
  • He LOVES to play with toys - his favorites are a book that makes "crinkly" sounds, a zebra that rattles and his favorite red hippy rattle from Tara.
  • He also loves the remote control, tissues, napkins, paper towel rolls, paper of any kind, HAIR and plastic shopping bags.
  • He takes 2, 1-2 hour naps per day and wears size 2-3 diapers (pampers makes this fabulous middle size and it is fantastic).
  • He eats rice cereal and a veggie mid morning and oatmeal at bedtime
  • Bedtime starts around 6:30 with cereal, then a bath, pj time, a book (if we are being a good boy!), and a good nursing session.  Luke is usually sleeping by 7:30 and will wake up around 6am.
  • He has perfected the whine.  He will whimper like a little puppy if he needs something....usually he wants to be picked up for a quick squeeze, grab a fallen toy, or he needs help sitting back up.
  • We are SO CLOSE to crawling!!!
I promise to post more soon about the last 2 weeks - including Thanksgiving, our trip to MA, a day care update, and lots more pictures!!!!!!

Here are a few outtaks from our 6 month photo shoot:
