Life is just plain busy. There are so many things I've wanted to post about over the past 6 weeks and I just haven't had a moment to actually sit down and blog. Luke's ever growing obsession with sports. Adam's amazing new "tricks". Our struggle over private vs catholic vs public school choice. The bond between Luke and Adam. Summer family adventures. The list is endless! But since I don't have time to blog about it all here is a mish mash of it all.
Our schedule:
These days, like a said before, are just plain BUSY. Here's a glimpse into out days...
530am - I wake up to fit in a 25 min workout
545-6am - Adam (and many times Luke) wake up
6-7am - everyone's up eating breakfast, showering, packing lunches, etc
7:15am - I leave for the train
7:45am - Tom and the boys leave for daycare/work
4:45pm - boys are picked up from daycare by Tom
5:45pm - I get home
5:45 - 6:30pm - play time for a few minutes while making dinner for both the boys
6:30pm - bath time for the boys
7pm - bed time for Adam
7:30pm - dinner for me and Tom
8:30pm - bed for Luke (which takes an average of 45 mins - down from the 2 hour struggle we have been fighting!)
9pm - 10pm - laundry, cleaning up dinner, getting ready for the next day and maybe a conversation with Tom!
10pm - PASS OUT
Best Friends:
Adam and Luke have such a bond already. Watching them interact makes my heart so happy. They chase each other around the house, Adam crawls all over Luke and tries to eat his face (!?!?). Luke puts on his baseball glove and Adam will go get the ball and place it in his glove. It's there own little game of catch. They do fight over toys sometimes but for the most part they play so well together. It's just awesome.
Growing Up
Honestly - look at this kid.

The Neighborhood:
We LOVE our neighborhood. 4th of July ended up being an amazing weekend spent at home. It started off with a bang (quite literally) when lightning struck our neighbors garage and electrified their house. Their tvs exploded and the fire department had to come out (4 different fire departments and about 15 trucks!). It was very scary but everyone was ok. It actually was a blessing in disguise as all the neighbors came together to help out - offer water (and alcohol!) to the very shaken up neighbor whose house was damaged. We met a lot of families for the first time - many of whom are our age and have young kids! It was awesome. We drank wine on the front lawn and got to know each other. We met 4 year old Harry that will be in Luke's kindergarten glass. We met 11 year old Brian who had a catch with Luke while we chatted. We could not have picked a more wonderful place to live.
4th of July itself was more of the same. A great BBQ with family and the fireworks across the street! We were able to see them from our front lawn.
Apparently our block is the place to park - we saw hundreds of people walk down our street to the field across the road for the firework display. Luke thought it was the coolest thing. He, along with our 2 neighbors - 8 year old Jameson and 5 year old Jordan - sang "Happy America!!" while waving the American flag to everyone walking down the street. Priceless.
Both neighbor kids have become great friends for Luke. They play baseball, basketball and ride bikes. We are really very lucky!
Right now like is just super busy and super crazy. But also super FUN. I wouldn't change a thing.
