Welcome Luke!

So this post is obviously very late - as you all know Luke Thomas Toczylowski arrived on May 21, 2010 at 11:28am. He weighed in at 8lbs 13oz and 21 1/2 inches long. Here is a quick synopsis of his arrival:

7:30am May 20 - arrive at hospital and begin IV Pitocin (induce labor)
7:00pm May 20 - finally move from 1cm to 3cm dilated - this is not good. Pitocin levels keep increasing which mean contractions start to really hurt.
9:30pm May 20 - doctor breaks my water - contractions REALLY pick up - epidural is requested - and I must say thank GOD for epidurals - AMAZING.
12:30am May 21 - now 6cm dilated (YAY!) but Luke decides to give us all a scare - his heart rate drops dramatically - nurses rush in, give me oxygen, and move my body around in crazy positions. Luke finally moves and his heart rate stabilizes - scariest moment of labor by far. It was horrible.
7am May 21 - after a night of CRAZY pressure on my pelvic bone (and NO sleep) I am still only 7 cm dilated. Doctor decides to give me 2 more hours and then decide on plan of action.
9:30am May 21 - doctor decides enough is enough - apparently Luke's head was not in the correct position making it too difficult for him to fit through my pelvic bone - decided that c-section is best option.
11am - wheeled to OR - all doctors and nurses are WOMEN in the room - it was fantastic. The only boys were Tommy and Luke!
11:28am - Luke arrives!!!!!

We stayed in the hospital for 4 nights after Luke arrived - so we were there for 5 nights total. They were the fastest 5 days of my life. Having Luke here is so surreal and so amazing. I can't believe how perfect he his. I am having trouble posting pictures now - I will try to post some soon!!!
